The Shen Sifu Framework is a clinical model grounded in dynamic systems theory that guides every treatment I provide, whether through acupuncture, manual therapy, or an integrated approach. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, this framework looks at how pain, movement, tissue health, and nervous system function interact, allowing treatment to address both immediate symptoms and the broader patterns that contribute to dysfunction.

Pain is shaped not only by tissues, but also by how the nervous system processes sensory input. This element uses treatment to help modulate pain signaling, reduce guarding, and support nervous system regulation.

Pain and dysfunction are not always located where symptoms are felt. This element considers how tension, restriction, and compensation may travel through connected fascial and myofascial relationships, helping guide treatment beyond the site of pain.

This element addresses dysfunction at or near the affected area, including tissue restriction, trigger points, impaired circulation, or joint and soft tissue irritation. The goal is to support pain reduction, improve tissue function, and promote recovery.

Pain and injury often alter how people move, sometimes reinforcing strain and dysfunction over time. This element supports healthier movement patterns, helping improve function and reduce recurrence.

The Shen Sifu Framework shapes what I assess, what I treat, and how I make clinical decisions during every session. Rather than focusing only on where symptoms hurt, I evaluate nervous system responses, tissue relationships, local dysfunctions, and movement patterns that may be contributing to pain or limiting recovery.
This often means treatment may include addressing areas beyond the immediate site of pain, combining multiple strategies within a session, and adapting care as the system responds. Whether using acupuncture, manual therapy, or both, the goal is not simply symptom relief, but more meaningful and lasting change in pain, function, and recovery.
